Miriam MacMillan
(1905 - 1987)
Miriam Norton Look MacMillan (née Look) was an American sailor, author, lecturer, photographer, and explorer.
Circa 1970 to 1980, she collected and catalogued thousands of photographs, slides, and Inuit art she had collected, which included wire recordings of Inuktitut language and songs.
In 1980, MacMillan received an honorary Doctor of Science degree.
She wrote three books. They were inspired by her travels.

This is a story mostly of hunting, because hunting for food is the Eskimo's life. But it is also a story of a warm and human family and their neighbors, young and old, and how they live on the northern shores of Greenland.
