Ernst Lothar
(1890 - 1974)
Born in Brunn, at that time part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, now Brno in the Czech Republic, as Ernst Lothar Müller, he dropped his surname to make his name more memorable. He was a lawyer, novelist, director, producer and memoirist. He and his wife fled Austria after the Anschluss in 1938, returning to Vienna after the war.
