Margaret Fogarty Rudkin
(1897 - 1967)
Margaret Rudkin began baking whole wheat bread for her son who suffered from allergies. Encouraged by her doctor she was soon selling bread commercially under the Pepperidge Farm brand. She expanded the company rapidly, introducing new products, such as Goldfish. She remained as CEO after selling the company to Campbell Soup in 1961, retiring in 1966.
