His niece Anne is engaged to the wrong man, but finds Jeff in the end. This novel was written while P.G. Wodehouse was in a German internment camp during World War II.

The Old Reliable (1951)
A collection of characters congregate in and around the mansion of former silent screen star Adela Shannon Cork. The right man gets the right girl in the end. This novel was derived from a play, which was derived from the novel Spring Fever.
Spring Fever (1948)
The Earl of Shortlands (who looks like a butler) and his butler (who, naturally, looks like an Earl) are competing for the hand of Mrs. Punter, the cook. There are two other couples at the Castle and Hollywood comes into it. Wodehouse made this novel into a play for E.E. Horton, which was not produced so he turned the play back into a novel, The Old Reliable.

Uncle Dynamite (1948)
Pongo is engaged to the wrong girl, so Uncle Fred steps in to straighten things out. Policemen are pushed into ponds, that day at the dog races raises its ugly head again, but all ends well with the correct couples re-united.
