Abraham Mitrie Rihbany
(1869 - 1944)
Born in Lebanon of Greek Orthodox parents, Abraham Dmitri (Mitrie) Rihbany attended a Presbyterian school in Souk El Gharb and converted to Protestantism. After his emigration to the United States he eventually wound up a Unitarian minister. He argued that his insights into 19th century Syrian culture shed light on the New Testament.
