Verna Aardema
(1911 - 2000)
Verna Norberg Aardema Vugteveen, best known by the name Verna Aardema, was an American writer of children's books. Her book Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears won the prestigious Caldecott Medal in 1976.
