Betty D. Boegehold
(1913 - 1985)
Betty Doyle Boegehold was a children’s book writer and director of the Bank Street Writers Workshop. Her many books include the Pippa Mouse series and the Golden Books “You Can Say ‘No’” and “Daddy Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.” She was also the author of books for adults about children, including “Getting Ready to Read.”
A graduate of Wellesley College and Teachers College of Columbia University, Mrs. Boegehold taught school in New York City and Mount Vernon before joining Bank Street in 1967.
