Clement C. Moore
(1779 - 1863)
Clement C. Moore inherited a large tract of land in New York City which he developed into the Chelsea neighborhood. He was a professor of Greek and Hebrew at the General Episcopal Seminary and wrote A Visit from St. Nicholas for his children.
