Isaac Bashevis Singer
(1902 - 1991)
Born in Poland, Isaac Bashevis Singer came to the United States in 1935. His original writing was in Yiddish, but he oversaw the English translations of many of his works as well. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature in 1978.

His empress is just as bad and they both of them come to a bad end and are replaced by their son Ling Ling and his bride, Min Lu.
