Mimpsy (Mary) Rhys was an English author whose childhood was spent in Cornwall. Her father was a parson and she read widely in his library. She attended university in Scotland, later emigrating to the United States. Her only published work was written at the age of thirteen to amuse her siblings. “I prefer the Widener for books, the Charles for ripples and the Connecticut grave-yards for their wolf-stones.”
