The Home Treasury Series
A series of children's books initiated by Sir Henry Cole in 1843. In addition to nursery rhymes, there were traditional and new fairy tales, bible stories and toys. It was a reaction to the moralizing stories of Mrs. Trimmer and the improving books of the numerous Peter Parleys.
