Charles E. Pont
(1898 - 1971)
Charles Ernest Pont was born in Saint-Julien-en Genevois, France. His mother was unmarried and after taking him to New York City abandoned him. He was adopted by a German immigrant couple. He studied art at the Pratt Institute and Cooper Union and had a long and successful carrer as a commercial artist and illustrator. He had a parallel career as a Baptist minister.
